Tiffany (1848-1943) and his designers, in line with trends of the early 20th century, used his trademark favrile glass to express nature-inspired themes for lamps and windows. Working from botanical photographs they created watercolor sketches to translate into leaded glass. Our suction-cup vase is adapted from a shade in the collection of the New-York Historical Society. Probably designed by Clara Driscoll, it features lush deep pink and red peonies spilling over a border.
